Can you Still be Punk in 2025?

For this project we wanted to recreate 90s underground punk rock concerts. Dirty, dusty, DIY, but some of the best experiences you’ve ever had in your life. Highly executed and planned out with the appearance of something that was thrown together.

We were able to host a 100 person event in the basement of an elementary school charging $10-13 a ticket. Something affordable but able to afford for the venue and other production costs while still being able to pay our artists well.

My job was the head of coordination and marketing. I dealt with anything and everything logistical. Finding PA systems, securing bands, dealing with millions of no’s until the perfect location was found, coordinating everything, and scheduling. I also was co-producing all the marketing material for the event. Videos, flyers, word of mouth, it was my job to make sure people knew about, and wanted to come.

With the help of Margo Heller we were able to create original merch for our event as well as stickers done and printed by Eloise Campisi. We even burned CD’s with the music from Andrew Ricci’s original short film, American Wanker, which spawned the idea for this event!

Lumina Leap Year (2024)

Not just a house show, a story.

Our goal for this event was to push the boundaries of what defined a traditional house show. Pulling from the theme of an illegal art auction we had skits, games, said illegal art auction, vendors, music from local artists, as well as many special surprises ;)

We wanted to imbue our show with a story, having details scattered around the space and throughout the experience. We had skits which revealed the story of the auction between musical acts. Audience interaction to help bring our viewers into the story. Through this we were able to tell a story about two art bandits who had taken over a gallery and were auctioning off anything they found worthy.

Everyone on the team was involved in every aspect of this creation. I worked on everything from finding and securing the location, budgeting, marketing, making sure we had all the right equipment for the show, finding the musical acts, and helping write the story for the show... And we pulled this off all in one month. (Do NOT plan an event in one month!!!)
While that was the most stressful month of my entire life it was also such a blast and taught me so much about hosting concerts. This would be of great value as I continued my event & concert hosting journey!
